About Milo

Meet the light and joy of our family - our seven-year-old son, Milo.
He loves to sing, dance, play outside, draw, and be read to.
If you need a good hug - a true, full, deep, squeeze-your-soul hug - he's your guy.
He has Down syndrome. This is an important part of his identity, but he is also so much more!

a medical bed

Milo was born with congenital heart disease and chronic airway issues, including severe sleep apnea that multiple surgeries have not helped. He uses oxygen via cannula when he sleeps. He is currently learning to use a surgical implant to help manage his sleep apnea.

In order to keep him safe while he sleeps, he needed a medical bed with full enclosure. For years, insurance denied our requests. We tried every angle we could, to no avail.

My purpose for starting this cottage bakery was twofold: first, provide nourishing bread for my community. Second, raise money to pay for Milo's bed! You came alongside us and supported us every step of the way. Amazingly, in March 2026, with the help of Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids, MI, Milo's safety bed arrived - fully paid for! We were able to use the money we had saved to pay for other medical bills. We are so grateful to God for the many ways He has provided for us. And that includes you, our bread community. Thank you!
